What is the MESH Coalition?
MESH, Inc. is an innovative
non-profit, public-private coalition located in Marion County, Indiana
(Indianapolis) that enables healthcare providers to respond effectively to
emergency events, and remain viable through recovery.
MESH is one of only a handful of
privately managed emergency preparedness healthcare coalitions in the United
States. MESH is sustained by subscribing healthcare organizations and grant
funding agencies who are committed to working together to build effective
response capabilities in our community.
To ensure effective
all-hazards emergency preparedness and delivery of high quality healthcare
services, collaboration among healthcare organizations, governmental agencies,
and non-governmental organizations is critical in the development of policies
and programs. This requires a focus on sustainment of the healthcare
infrastructure during an emergency event and through the recovery phase.
Through its many workgroups and educational programs, MESH creates a forum for
healthcare organizations to collaboratively address issues ranging from
operational readiness to reimbursement following a catastrophic disaster.
How does ARES work with MESH?
The Marion County ARES Team serves the MESH Coalition as a auxiliary emergency communications resource. Volunteers with the Marion County ARES Team will assist MESH with their communications to various healthcare organizations in Marion County in the event of a disaster or public emergency.
